Despite hit advantage, Red Rage drops 10-6 game to Pittsford-Hennessey

Red Rage lost 10-6 in five innings at Jefferson Road School on Monday, despite outhitting Pittsford-Hennessey 11 to four.

Red Rage was led by a flawless day at the dish by Michael Pellittiere, who went 3-3 against Pittsford-Hennessey’s pitching. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

The top of the first saw Red Rage take an early lead, 2-0. Red Rage got a spark in the form of a Will MacFarlane single, before before Pellittiere tripled, plating MacFarlane. Red Rage added more runs when Pellittiere scored on a passed ball.

Pittsford-Hennessey quickly matched Red Rage’s strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the first. Pittsford-Hennessey scored on a passed ball and a walk by Kyle.

Pittsford-Hennessey didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring seven runs in the second inning when it scored on an error, a fielder’s choice, a passed ball, an RBI single by Andrew, a two-run triple by Rob, and a walk by Jimmy.

After pushing across two runs in the top of the third, Red Rage faced just a 9-4 deficit. A wild pitch and an RBI single by Pellittiere fueled Red Rage’s comeback. Ryan Gaudioso grounded out to end the Red Rage threat.

Two runs in the top of the fifth helped Red Rage close its deficit to 10-6. An RBI single by Jack Lindstrom and an RBI single by MacFarlane gave Red Rage life. But, Sean got Ryan Lucey to ground out to end the game.
